Life Teen is a Catholic youth ministry program that began in 1985 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona. There are now over 1,200 parishes around the world that has adopted the Life Teen program, which is geared towards high school teens in grades 9-12.

The Life Teen program, while designed as a year round program, will begin at St. Patrick’s Church with our Life Teen Mass and Life Nights available to our teens beginning Sunday, September 13th and will run each consecutive Sunday evening thru the end of May. During the summer months, while our Life Teen Mass and Life Nights will be suspended, our teens will be given an opportunity to attend some of the Life Teen camps, conferences and outreach programs. 

The main components of Life Teen consist of our Life Teen Mass, the Life Nights and a variety of camps, conferences and outreach programs.

Life Teen Mass – Life Teen is first and foremost a Eucharist centered program. Our Life Teen program begins with a teen friendly Liturgy, which will be held each Sunday evening at 5:00 PM.

The Life Teen Mass is open to all ages but has an emphasis to the teens of our community.

Life Nights – Following our Life Teen Mass, our Life Nights will begin at 6:00 PM.

Life Nights are open to all the teens of our parish and community at the High School level, grades 9 – 12.

Our Life Nights will begin with a light dinner, provided by the parents of our parish, and will be followed by an evening consisting of one of three types of experiential programs; Catechetical, Issue or Social.

• Catechetical nights, will allow our teens to explore more about their Catholic faith.
• Issue nights will allow our teens to explore some of the issues that affect their daily lives and ultimately their walk with Jesus Christ.
• Social nights will allow our young people to build upon their relationships with one another and strengthen our Catholic community.

Some Social Nights will be open to our 8th grade students as well as our 9th – 12th graders. These special Social nights will be posted in our weekly Sunday Bulletin.

Life Teen Schedule:

Retreats:  Life Teen Camp, Conferences & Outreach Programs – In order to further strengthen the community fostered at our Life Nights, St. Patrick Life Teen will offer our teens the opportunity to attend some of the camps, conferences or outreach programs that will be available over the summer months. The cost of each event will vary depending on the type of camp; it’s location and the length of stay.

Supportive Priests – St. Patrick Life Teen is blessed to have the support of our pastor Father Chuck.  Father is very enthusiastic about bringing the Life Teen Program to our parish and along with many other priests within our diocese; he has offered his valuable time in bringing about an added Youth Mass to our weekly parish schedule.

Life Teen Coordinators – The role of Life Teen Coordinator is to help facilitate the weekly implementation of the Life Teen program and to work closely with our many volunteers and parish staff. The Life Teen Coordinators for St. Patrick Church are Michelle Donahue and Francis O’Meara.   

Core Team – Relational Ministry is key to teens being led closer to Christ. A Core Team of adult Catholics who are alive in their faith not only helps to lead the various events, but also walk with our young people on their journey to Salvation. Life Teen Music Ministry – Music plays a vital role within Life Teen, from Mass to our retreats. Having a quality music group helps lead teens and their families in worship. St. Patrick is blessed to have two Life Teen bands and the members are: Josh Basil, Tomas Camara, Emily Donahue, Kevin Garcia, Paul Lechowicz, David Mann Jr., Jeanine Marcin, Genna Marcin, Julia Marcin, Greg Matunas, Maryann Matunas, Bryn Owen, Andy Williams. (Musicians always welcome!)

Teen Leaders - From serving at Mass to leading outreach activities, peer-to-peer ministry is a strong component within our LifeTeen program. 

Parents - We believe that parents will always be the most influential people in a young person’s life. Parent involvement is key in building the relationship between teens and their families. 

Volunteers – Our St. Patrick community is alive and well! We are truly blessed to be part of a loving parish community where adults and young people alike have come together to offer God their time, talents and money for the sake of this program and for so many others ministries at St. Patrick. Without your support, Life Teen could not exist.

Teens – They are our Church, both now and in the future. Our Life Teen program exists for them. We are the community of St. Patrick and we have come to serve God and the Catholic Church by using everything at our disposal to lead teenagers and their families closer to Christ.
