The National Directory for Catechesis directs that all faith must be known, celebrated, lived, and expressed in prayer. The St. Patrick Church Youth Faith Formation Program taken as a whole makes each of these an objective. Children and youth are offered opportunities for structured catechesis, faith sharing, celebration of the liturgy, preparation and reception of the Sacraments, and participation in para liturgical celebrations, all of which aid them in integrating knowledge of their faith with living their faith. In doing so, their faith is deepened and strengthened.
Parents are the primary catechists of their children and as such it is their primary responsibility to educate their children in the Catholic faith. The objective of the St. Patrick Church Faith Formation Program is to supplement this task by imparting more knowledge and supporting the formation of Catholic attitudes so that the children may participate more fully in the worship of the Church.
St. Patrick Church is pleased to offer both a classroom based program and a home taught family faith formation program for grades 1,2,4,5,6,7,8. Space is limited in the classroom program and timely registration is encouraged.
Students preparing to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation must participate in a classroom based program.
